Dr. Perrah’s Club Mythopoetica
MCH Alumni Book & Story Club

Our current goal is that, by the end of August,
we will submit our Club’s edited works for publication to the L.A. Times!

Yes, there are agreements!

  1. Be responsible. Bring your blue club folder every time, along with something to write with and something to write on. Plan to take notes.
  2. Show up: participate and contribute.
  3. Be nice (which means, basically, be your best self, be appropriate, kind, and safe to be around).

Yes, there will be homework: read and write!

Every week, you need to bring in something you have written yourself--at least one page. Mom or Dad may help you get it on paper, but they don’t tell you what to say! This writing reflects your thinking and may be one or more of the following:

  1. Review of a book you have read.
  2. Revision (a new ending or some other twist) of a book you have read.

[For both # 1 and # 2, bring the book if you can.]

  1. Bring in an original piece of creative writing.
  2. Bring work you have done on a specific scene for our current “Work in Progress” (our original story, Princess Penelope and Her Friend Frog).

Be prepared for a group edit session on whatever you bring to share in the club.
